“Dementia- What To Know”

Woodlawn’s Stephen Ministry is hosting a FREE event, “Dementia- What to Know” lead by Dementia Specialist Kathy Adkins, RN. Kathy is a long-time critical care nurse and college nursing professor with multiple master’s degrees in dementia, nursing, and hospital administration. Dementia is one of the leading causes of death in the United States and touches most households – personally or by grandparent, parent, spouse, child, sibling, or just friend. It is estimated that more than 9 million Americans live with some form of dementia. Although Dementia is most often associated with the elderly, it can strike at any age. Dementia is costly in every way possible both financially and emotionally.
