Welcome to our Children's Ministry
The Children’s Ministry of Woodlawn United Methodist Church is a place where faith, imagination, and learning go hand in hand. Through creative, active, age-appropriate, Bible-based learning experiences, children are guided and encouraged to grow and develop their faith.
At Woodlawn UMC, we prioritize the safety and spiritual growth of your children. We are excited to offer a safe space that is SafeGatherings certified, providing a secure environment for all our young attendees. Our dedicated team of adults and volunteers have undergone thorough background checks and other training, ensuring your child's safety while they experience worship, learning, and fun.
Schedule
Sundays
Every Sunday, we invite children from Kindergarten to 5th grade to join us for Children’s Sunday School @ 10 am. Please note that the schedule may be subject to change based on holidays and volunteer availability.
Children join Ms. Kendra @ 10 am in Zone 3 in the Children’s Wing for children’s worship and a quick devotion. Then, the children split off into two groups: Kindergarten – 2nd grade and 3rd – 5th grade for age-appropriate activities in Storytime, Science, Art, and even Cooking with SafeGatherings-certified adult volunteers from our church. Children should be picked up from Zone 3 at 11:00am when Children’s Sunday School concludes.
Meanwhile, our little ones in Pre-K will have their own Sunday School curriculum facilitated by Ms. Janet in the nursery, creating a tailored experience for their developmental needs. However, if a little one is more comfortable joining a sibling in Children’s Sunday School, they are welcome!
Rest assured, our SafeGatherings certification ensures that your child’s safety is our top priority. Our background-checked adults and volunteers are dedicated to creating a nurturing and secure environment for your children to grow spiritually.

Nursery
At Woodlawn UMC, the safety and well-being of your child is our top priority. We are proud to say that our staff and volunteers are SafeGatherings certified, which requires training and thorough background checks, ensuring a secure environment for your little ones. Our nursery is specifically designed to provide a safe and nurturing Christian space for children aged 0-4.
Our nursery services are available during all worship services and when adult classes are offered. Nursery hours on Sundays are from 9:00 am to 11:00 am. We request that parents remain on-site while their child is in the nursery, allowing for quick and easy communication and peace of mind.

Camp Horizon
Each summer, youth from Woodlawn UMC attend camp at Camp Horizon outside of Ark City. It is an amazing opportunity to gather with youth from other churches for a week of incredible games, community building and Bible study. Most of our youth will tell you that this is their special place – that place where they go to connect with God as they experience the beauty of creation and encounter God in one another.
Vacation Bible School
We’re thrilled to invite you to our upcoming Vacation Bible School (VBS) at Woodlawn United Methodist Church! This year, we’re offering an exciting opportunity for children in grades Pre-K through 5th to embark on a fun-filled week of faith-building adventures.
VBS 2025’s Theme will be Roadtrip: On the Go with God.

Additionally, we’re excited to offer Club 45 sessions for 4th and 5th graders on Tuesday and Thursday from 11:30 am to 2:00 pm. The signup links for Club 45 will be available on the Woodlawn UMC Event Pay webpage when you go to register your child for VBS.
Acolyte

WOW (Woodlawn on Wednesday)
Join us for WOW (Woodlawn on Wednesdays), an exciting event series for all ages, taking place from 5:30-7:00 PM on March 12, April 2, & May 7.
Each evening begins with a group meal from 5:30 to 6:00 PM, where everyone is welcome to enjoy a delicious dinner together. Following the meal, children and youth will participate in engaging activities, while adults attend an inspiring class led by Pastor Kim.
Come together with our community for food, fun, and fellowship at WOW – a wonderful way to spend your Wednesday evenings!
